The morning starts on the shelves
The farm is vertical, so the plants grow on stacked shelves, floor to ceiling. The LED light is calibrated for each green and switches on at the same time every day. It doesn't matter if it's January or July outside - on the shelves it's always the season, green all year round. The first look of the morning is a simple check: the water's clean, the nutrient solution is dosed exactly, the shelves are full.
Harvest: cut on delivery day
Here's the difference that matters. Store lettuce is harvested days in advance so it can survive a trip of thousands of kilometers. At CityFarm, greens are cut the day they leave for you: harvested today, delivered today or tomorrow. They don't sit in a warehouse or spend days in a supply chain. When store lettuce gets cut, its root gets cut too - and that's when the countdown starts. Our greens leave alive, roots and all. The plant keeps breathing and drinking, so it stays crisp for up to 5 days in your fridge. The root is also a simple promise: you see exactly what you're getting and where it came from, nothing hidden.

All 5 farms are in Chișinău, not on the edge of another country. That changes the distance completely. The average supermarket lettuce has traveled nearly 2,000 kilometers and spent 5–7 days on the road. Ours grows a few sectors away from you.
